According to a report by The Times Of Israel on July 19, 2026, an Israeli security source claimed that Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is currently outside Iran. The claim was reported by the Saudi news outlet al-Hadath.

Khamenei assumed the position of supreme leader shortly after his father was killed in joint US-Israeli strikes on February 28. Since taking office, he has not made any public appearances and has communicated only through written statements, according to the report.

The Israeli security source alleged that Khamenei’s public messages are not personally written by him.
