Orire Attack: When They Released Us, One Suggested They Should Cut Off My Hand To Remove The Cuffs–Olatunde

A teacher rescued after spending 56 days in captivity following the abduction of pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, Zacchaeus Olatunde, has shared how one of the kidnappers suggested cutting off his hand to remove a broken handcuff before they eventually freed him.

According to a report by Punch on Sunday, July 19, 2026, speaking during an interview, Olatunde said he was the last person to leave the kidnappers’ camp because the key to his handcuffs had broken earlier in captivity. He said one of the abductors suggested cutting off his hand to remove the cuffs, but another rejected the idea and used a rope to remove them instead.

Olatunde said the kidnappers later released the captives and directed them to follow a path out of the forest. He recalled that after briefly taking the wrong direction, the kidnappers’ commander called him back at gunpoint and showed him the correct route.Clicking Here.
