The swearing-in of Hon. Jadda comes in the wake of Hon. Kamal Salihu’s disqualification from contesting for the national leadership position. Hon. Salihu, who currently serves as the leader of Yola North and chairman of the 21 local government areas’ Councillors, was deemed ineligible under the national guidelines of the National Councillors Forum of Nigeria.

Candidates for elective positions must not hold any other position within the forum or associated political bodies to avoid conflicts of interest

According to the forum’s Standard Guidelines for Elections, candidates for elective positions must not hold any other position within the forum or associated political bodies to avoid conflicts of interest. This stipulation directly impacted Salihu’s candidacy, leading to his disqualification and creating an opening for Jadda’s ascension to the role.

During the swearing-in ceremony, Hon. Jadda expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to lead and emphasized the importance of unity and transparency within the council. “Today marks a new chapter in the work we do for our communities. Together, we will strive for accountability, innovation, and development within the Councillors Forum,” Jadda remarked during his acceptance speech.
