BREAKING: IDF Chief Says Israel Fully Ready To Return Immediately And Forcefully To All Fighting Fronts

According to a report by The Times Of Israel on April 22, 2026, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir has said that the Israeli military remains on high alert and fully prepared to resume fighting across all fronts, as fragile truces continue in Iran and Lebanon amid ongoing regional tensions.

He made the remarks during an Independence Day ceremony at the President’s Residence, where 120 outstanding soldiers were honoured for their service. Zamir noted that since the events of October 7, the IDF has been focused on rebuilding its military strength through continuous combat operations.

Speaking about the situation in Gaza, he said the military had achieved success against Hamas while maintaining its guiding principle: “We leave no one behind.” He credited troops for their sustained efforts in difficult combat conditions.

Zamir also pointed to ongoing operations in Lebanon, saying the IDF is engaged in intense fighting aimed at strengthening the security of communities in northern Israel. He emphasized that these efforts remain active and ongoing.

Addressing wider regional conflicts, he referred to military operations against Iran, including Rising Lion and Roaring Lion, which encompass the June 2025 war and a later 40-day confrontation with Tehran. He said these operations reflect the broader scope of Israel’s current security challenges.

“At this very moment, we are conducting intense fighting in Lebanon to strengthen the defense of the northern communities,” Zamir said, highlighting the continued operational pressure on multiple fronts.

He further stressed the military’s state of readiness, adding: “Since the inferno of October 7, we have been working to reestablish our military strength through continuous fighting,” and “At this time, the IDF maintains high alertness and readiness, prepared to return immediately and forcefully to combat in all sectors,” reinforcing that the army remains prepared for rapid escalation if required.
