Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has called on the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to clearly declare where his political loyalty lies, amid ongoing concerns about his association with both the PDP and the APC-led federal government.
Speaking during a recent interview on Arise News on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, George said the situation has created confusion within the PDP and raised questions about discipline and loyalty in the party. He insisted that it is no longer sustainable for Wike to remain politically linked to the PDP while also working within an administration led by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to him, clarity is urgently needed to protect the integrity and unity of the opposition party. He argued that Wike must take a decisive step and end any form of political ambiguity.
George stated: “The government is still allowing him to say he’s in PDP while he’s working for the APC government.”
He further emphasized that Wike must make a firm decision about his political home, adding: “If he wants to be in PDP this is the time to get out of wherever he is and come.”
Reinforcing his position, George stressed that loyalty cannot be divided and that the PDP must not tolerate unclear affiliations among its members. He warned that continued uncertainty could weaken internal cohesion and create deeper divisions within the party structure.
He reiterated again: “If he wants to be in PDP this is the time to get out of wherever he is and come.”
The remarks have sparked further discussion within political circles, especially regarding party loyalty and shifting alliances ahead of future elections in Nigeria. George’s comments reflect growing concerns within the PDP over internal unity and the need for clearer political alignment among key figures in the opposition landscape.
