General Lucky Irabor (rtd), a former Chief of Defence Staff, has stated that his book titled Scars was inspired by both his personal experiences in war and the challenges Nigeria has faced as a country
In an interview with NTA, General Irabor said he still has physical scars on his arm from the war against Boko Haram
General Irabor explained that his book talks about Nigeria’s journey as a nation and the impact of Boko Haram insurgency on the country.
Speaking further, Irabor stated that he also examined the factors that contributed to the insecurity in Nigeria and discussed ways Nigeria can correct those problems
In General Irabor’s words: “I have scars here, it is from war against Boko Haram. So both personal scars that are physical, mental, emotional and national scars is what led to that book”
