In a recent interview aired on Arise TV on Friday, May 22, 2026, member of the Movement for Credible Elections, Usman Bugaje, raised concerns over the structure and timing of Nigeria’s electoral preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Bugaje criticized the role of the electoral body, particularly the scheduling framework released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). He alleged that the timeline appears skewed in favor of the ruling party, potentially disadvantaging opposition groups.
