According to a report by Vanguard on Thursday, July 9, 2026, the Chairman of the Social Democratic Party State Chairmen Forum and the party’s Lagos State governorship candidate, Femi Olaniyi, criticised the administration of President Bola Tinubu, saying the government had failed to provide clear direction amid the controversy surrounding the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council.
Speaking after the National Executive Committee meeting of the SDP in Abuja, Olaniyi described the controversy as disappointing and said the matter had raised concerns among Nigerians.
