According to a report by Daily Post on Thursday, July 9, 2026, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has defended his unpopularity among government employees by saying that his government has stopped the waste of taxpayer money.
He claimed that many government employees are unhappy with him due to his decision to end policies that enabled the theft of taxpayer funds.
The comments were made by Wike during his monthly media conference on the nation’s status, which took place in Abuja on Thursday. During the chat, Wike discussed a number of topics related to Abuja’s governance and the handling of public funds.
