Alaba Market Trader, 30, Arrested For Buying N47.8m Stolen Goods

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Aso Rock Plaza, Alaba Market, where the Police intelligence operatives traced and recovered some of the items as exhibits.

According to the Police, the suspect, Abba Kabir ‘M’ and others now at large between December, 2022 to 6th day of April, 2024, at Shop No:AR27 Aso Rock Plaza, Alaba International Market, Ojo, did conspire among themselves to steal and receive stolen property and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

Part of the charge read: “That you Abba Kabir ‘M’ and others now at large on the same date, time and place, in the aforementioned Magisterial District did receive phone accessories valued N47,860,000.00 from one Anichebe Ifechukwu, known to have been stolen property of Emmanuel Ogude, MD/CEO Mich Original Emperial Plus Enterprisess & Power Raise Global Digital Technology Nigeria Limited, committed an offence punishable under Section 328 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015”.

However, he pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned.

The prosecutor, Inspector Esther Adesulu, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.M. Alade, granted him bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.>>>CONTINUE FULL READING HERE
