The human rights organization called out President Bola Tinubu’s administration, accusing it of using security forces to stifle dissent and undermine civil society organizations.

In a series of tweets a few minutes ago, Amnesty International Nigeria condemned the DSS for its actions, stating that SERAP, an organization known for its strong stance on accountability and anti-corruption efforts, should not be targeted for its work.

“SERAP stands for accountability against corruption. It is bizarre that the DSS — which should focus on protecting Nigeria — are shockingly acting without respect for the rule of law, by consistently targeting civil society organizations and activists,” Amnesty International stated in one of its tweets.
