The former president explained how hard he was tackled to the ground at the Saturday rally in Pennsylvania.
Trump cleared any confusion as to where his “tight” shoes had disappeared too after he was taken off stage, he told the New York Post.
In a video the former president could be heard saying “Wait, I want to get my shoes,” as he was rushed off of the stage.
“The agents hit me so hard that my shoes fell off, and my shoes are tight,” Trump told the NYP.
Trump described these agents as “linebackers” due to their quick response after the shots were fired at him.
The former president said he wanted to continue talking to the crowd at his rally but was told he needed to be taken to a hospital.
Trump was at his campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday.
He was shot at by Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, and one of those bullet struck his left ear.
Images of the former president punching the air as blood streamed down his face have gone viral across the world.
Crooks was shot dead by a Secret Service agent at the scene.
