NMDPRA Assures 20 Days Petroleum Sufficiency

The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), in a meeting with President Bola Tinubu, has assured that there is a guarantee of 20 days of petroleum sufficiency for the country.

The Chief Executive Officer of NMDPRA, Farouk Ahmed, announced this on Tuesday after meeting with the President to discuss the fuel scarcity affecting Abuja and other parts of Nigeria. Ahmed explained that the fuel scarcity was caused by logistics disruptions due to rough seas and flooding in Lagos.

Ahmed stated that the 20 days of sufficiency includes 12 days offshore and over 8 days onshore.

“I briefed the President that we have like 20 days of petroleum sufficiency, 12 days offshore and over 8 days onshore,” Ahmed said.

He further explained that the volatile nature of the high seas at the time prevented the continuation of offshore, ship-to-ship loading, which contributed to the scarcity.>>>CONTINUE FULL READING HERE
