She called on all the federal universities in the region to act fast by fulfilling all the necessary requirements demanded of them, so that they will be included and pave way for the students to enjoy the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) allocation.

The statement reads in part: “The office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement for South East is alarmed that none of the federal universities in the region were included in the recent Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) allocation of nearly ₦2.95 billion to 27,667 students across 19 universities.

“This is due to the lack of failure to meet necessary requirements for loan access. This omission is a missed opportunity for our students to access critical funding for their education. NELFUND offers a lifeline for students struggling to finance their studies, and it is imperative that our universities take immediate action to unlock this funding.

“We urge all South East universities to step in and ensure students respond promptly to the NELFUND verification request, complete all necessary requirements for loan access, and take advantage of this package to support their programmes.
