The President and Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, claimed that the mafia in the oil industry is more powerful than those in the drugs business.

At the Sunday (July 14) media parley at the complex, he expantiated that because the saboteurs and mafiosi thought the project was too audacious and crazy, they didn’t give it much chance of success and largely left him alone to fail.

They didn’t bother to sabotage him because they thought he would encounter insurmountable hurdles that would terminate the adventure.

In a rotting system spanning 35 years with free money, the cartel benefiting will fight back.

They knew there would be a fight, but they didn’t realise they were this strong.

“The mafia is both local and global,” the billionaireadmits. “But we will eventually succeed for the sake of our country and the continent.”

The Lagos-based businessman ceaselessly faces one battle or the other in his 46-year business stint and always manages to triumph—which is why the richest African, with hands in lucrative concerns spanning the continent, has emerged hugely successful over the decades.

He admitted that back breaking and humbling obstacles, hurdles and challenges have always been part of his life.

Being in business is serious – it demands focus, perseverance, diligence and more.

One of the earliest battles the magnate recalled was when the group bought the cement company in Benue during privatisation, and were labelled inexperienced without technical knowhow. The battle raged for four years with the Benue government.

It was the low output in cement in the country (1.98 million tonnes) that eventually made the businessman to change his mind and begin production. And launched a 5 million tonne capacity which was unheard of in sub-saharan Africa.

Also the sugar refinery business presented legions of challenges. There was a time (after buying Savannah Sugar Company in Adamawa State), 40 percent of the farmland was burnt by arsonists. And without a farmland in sugar, you cannot be in business.They had to start all over again.

Alhaji Dangote assured that Dangote refinery gasoline should be available in petrol pumps across Nigeria by next month (August). He disclosed that production starts this month, and distribution to marketers will be in August.>>>CONTINUE FULL READING HERE
