Human rights lawyer Barrister Deji Adeyanju has formally petitioned the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, concerning the nonpayment of stipends owed to N-Power beneficiaries. Despite the suspension of the N-Power program by the Nigerian government, the beneficiaries assert that they were actively engaged and their services were utilized prior to the program’s suspension. They registered for the N-Power initiative and were deployed to their respective primary assignments for a full year.

In his petition, Adeyanju emphasized that the beneficiaries have fulfilled all obligations and committed their time and effort in good faith, expecting timely remuneration as stipulated. He stated, “Our clients are yet to receive their monthly stipends from October 2022 to September 2023, which has resulted in significant financial hardship.”
