In a disappointing turn of events for the reigning Premier League champions, Manchester City, manager Pep Guardiola has announced that defender Rúben Dias will be sidelined for approximately 3 to 4 weeks.

Rúben Dias had to be sidelined due to an injury he sustained during the Premier League clash against Manchester United on Sunday, December 15.

Pep Guardiola revealed that Dias “experienced discomfort during the match,” managing to play for 75 minutes despite significant pain.

Unfortunately, the extent of the injury means that the Portuguese international will not be available for selection in the coming weeks, leaving City to navigate their fixtures without one of their key defensive players.

In brighter news for the defensive line, defenders Manuel Akanji and John Stones have returned to training, offering Guardiola some much-needed options.

In transfer-related developments, the situation at Chelsea seems to be in flux. Enzo Maresca, the club’s manager, has indicated that both Carney Chukwuemeka and Ben Chilwell may be parting ways with the Premier League club during the January transfer window.

Maresca noted, “There are players, like Chilwell and Carney, who have had limited playing time with us, which may lead them to seek new opportunities. We are actively looking for solutions.”

Chukwuemeka has the potential to attract interest from other clubs, while Chilwell’s situation suggests he may be looking for more regular first-team action elsewhere.

Maresca also provided updates on the injury situation within the squad. He sadly confirmed that defenders Benoît Badiashile and Wesley Fofana will be out for an extended period.

On a brighter note, Joao Felix and Noni Madueke have returned to full fitness, but there are concerns about Roméo Lavia’s availability for the upcoming Premier League match against Everton this Sunday, December 22.

Adding to the positive news for Chelsea fans, captain Reece James has resumed partial training with the first team.

Maresca expressed optimism saying, “It’s great news that Reece will start participating in part of the session. We will carefully work on his conditioning before he’s ready to play, though that may not be this Sunday.”

Meanwhile, in a significant move off the field, midfielder Dele Alli has officially confirmed his departure from Premier League club Everton, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

In his next chapter, Alli is scheduled to start training with Serie A side Como on December 26, where he will be under the guidance of former Arsenal star Cesc Fabregas.

This transition marks a new beginning for Alli, who seeks to revitalize his career in Italy after a challenging stint with the Toffees.

At Old Trafford, Manchester United coach, Rúben Amorim has confirmed that Mason Mount won’t be available for a couple of weeks due to fitness issues.

He said, “Mason Mount will be out for several weeks.

“We are going to help him. It’s really hard for the player to be out for so long, and he’s trying really hard.”
