A stranger is a man or a woman who has no relationship with members of his community. The clear index for measuring such a character is the absence of a prior support ,or identifying with the development efforts of his/ her community. Both are from Godwin Obaseki, the incumbent governor of Edo State who ran Edo State as a private estate in 8 years and did not see any qualified Edo community person that can be governor, but only his personal friends in Ikoyi club in Lagos. Edo people stood with Godwin Obaseki during the election for his second term, believing his lies that former governor,Adams Oshiomhole was unduly against him.All through his tenure as the governor of Edo State ,no youth empowerment, no single market for market women, but increase daily collections from bus and taxi drivers, bike riders, pure water sellers, wheel barrow pushers, etc, deposited into Sterling bank where his PDP anointed candidate, Asue Ighodalo has a major stake. In all these, Obaseki rewards for the people of Edo State is to go to Lagos to bring his friends who has never contributed anything to the revenue of the state to be elected as governor.Obaseki Candidates have no residential address in Edo State, no office,no shop,no farm,their wives and children have never resided in Edo State, they have never voted for anybody in Edo State.They have never paid tax in Edo State, but are asking Edo people to hand over the treasury of Edo State to these strangers.
Obaseki is returning to Lagos on November 12, after the inauguration of the next governor,and he wants to impose his friends from Lagos on the people of Edo State. This is simply the evil of moneybags in the politics of Edo State and the wickedness of the godfather in the politics of Edo State.
Edo State voters must speak with a loud voice and say no to the strangers Obaseki is bringing from Lagos.
The LP candidate is campaigning with the name of Peter Obi.He did not vote for Peter Obi in the last election.He did not vote for any LP candidate in the last election.He did not contribute a kobo to the struggle of Edo people to give Peter Obi victory in the last election.He has never voted for anybody in Edo State.He changes his name according to his interest and where he is operating from.He is facing pre- election litigations over his correct identity.He has no single record of ever contributing to the development of his community in Edo State. He has come on the sponsorship of Godwin Obaseki with billboards all over the city and adverts on the different media with the sole intention to deceive Edo people and return to Lagos with the resources of Edo State. Edo voters should reject him and his godfather.
The PDP candidate is battling in court with the issues of his voters card. Why should a responsible man who calls himself a Christian go to Court to defend the authenticity of his voters card?
If he has a voters card he should address a press conference and show the original copy of his voters card to members of the public.Failure to do this,and spending millions of Edo State money on lawyers to defend the case that he has no voters card is a clear indication that he should not be trusted by anyone. Edo state voters should reject the PDP candidate and tell him to go and face his business in Lagos .There is nothing special, not academics, public service experience, community development records,etc, that he is bringing to Edo State order than a clear intention to collaborate with his godfather to continue to convert the resources of Edo State for personal use.
Edo State Voters Should say loud no to the strangers from Lagos and concentrate on a candidate who has records of community service, good antecedents,public service experience and have stake in Edo State as the next governor of Edo State.
