Vivian Wilson, the 20-year-old transgender daughter of Elon Musk, has announced her intention to leave the United States following Donald Trump’s recent election victory.

Born Xavier Musk in 2004, she legally changed her name and gender in April 2022 and has since sought to distance herself from her father by adopting her mother’s maiden name, Wilson. In a post on Threads, she expressed her discomfort with the current political climate, stating, “I don’t see my future in the United States.

Elon Musk, who has publicly supported Trump and has a complex relationship with Vivian, has previously commented on her transition, claiming he was misled into allowing her to use puberty blockers.

In response to her father’s remarks, Vivian has highlighted his lack of involvement in her upbringing, asserting that he often criticized her for her femininity and queerness. She remarked, “He doesn’t know what I was like as a child because he simply wasn’t there. I was relentlessly harassed for my femininity and queerness. I’ve been reduced to a stereotype. I think that says a lot about how he views queer people and children in general.
