There have been several Palestinian deaths from this operation, most of them civilians, and significant damage to the local infrastructure.

Large-scale drilling activities are shown in the video, with equipment building a network of deep holes. The goal of these searches is to locate tunnels, which are often portrayed in Hamas-produced propaganda as being big enough to support equipment and mobility. On the other hand, the more recent excavations reveal smaller, sewer-like passageways.
