The protesters carried signs with messages such as “Tinubu, intervene now to alleviate commuters’ suffering” and “Tinubu, activate Warri and Kaduna refineries without further delay.” They blocked major roads to express their frustration and anger.
“We are suffering in silence; the fuel price hike is a killer,” one protester said. The situation in the area has become dire, with most fuel stations closed and the few that are open selling fuel at over N1,000 per litre.
