Nollywood actor, Nonso Diobi, has revealed that veteran actress, Hilda Dokubo, helped him secure his first major break in the movie industry.
Naija News reports that the thespian, in a recent episode of the ‘Nollywood Hardcore’ podcast, said his resemblance to Hilda earned him the movie role.
Nonso Diobi narrated that he had gone for an audition when Hilda Dokubo noticed him and requested the director to cast him as her brother in the movie due to their resemblance.
He said, “Back to the story of how I got my first movie role. I was at an audition and I started hearing people calling me from afar. I approached. Before I could get close to them, Hilda Dokubo said, ‘This young boy looks like me. He can play my brother.’
“That was how I finally got my first role after three years and more than 1000 auditions. I didn’t even audition for it.”
In other news, Nigerian Rapper, Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, known by his stage name Skales, has said he would never respect men of the Nigeria Police Force.
Skales stated this on his X handle while narrating his encounter with some policemen in Magodo Lagos, on Tuesday.
Skales decried policemen’s activities towards the rich, alleging extortion of the public while neglecting their constitutional duties.
According to him, he was driving for an interview but was delayed by some policemen because he did not agree to give them bribes.
