But with his sudden death in the early hours of Saturday, 27 July, 2024, in London, United Kingdom, the dream thus become stillborn.
Thegazellenews.com learnt that the man who is representing Anambra South Senatorial District in the Upper Legislative Chamber has not hidden his intention to displace Chief Charles Soludo in the coming governorship election in the state.Ubah has made giant strides into politics by winning the Anambra South Senatorial District election on the platform of a relatively unknown and unpopular Young People’s Party (YPP), in the 9th Senate.

Thus, he officially defected to the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the floor of the Red Chamber.
Thegazellenews.com can confirmed that he was gearing up for the party governorship primaries for the state Governorship election coming up next year.He was reported to have earlier made huge cash donations to the party in Anambra since his defection and thegazellenews.com learnt that he has started consultations among party elders and leaders both at the state and national levels.
“Two days before he travelled to London, he made another huge donation to the Anambra APC and he has really gained more popularity and followers in the party,” a source told thegazellenews.com.
But all these have turned into a mirage as the popular politician and businessman died as a result of complications resulting from a surgery in London.
According to sources, complications from a recent tummy tuck surgery, which led to weight loss, caused his death. Ubah was a prominent politician, entrepreneur, and businessman who founded Capital Oil (CCO) in 2001 and served as its CEO until his passing.
His death was confirmed by a source close to the lawmaker in the early hours of Saturday, 27 July, 2024.
“He died during an operation in London hospital, “ a source, who is another friend of the legislator, said, saying “We are waiting for the family to issue a statement. We spoke to him three times yesterday, before he went into the theatre for the operation.”
His death comes just a few days after the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu passed on.
The CEO of Capital Oil had survived an assassination attempt in September 2022.
Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah was married to Mrs. Uchenna Ubah, a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and the marriage is blessed with five children.
