Similar to how the Southwest area banded together
to have Sunday Igboho released, he said the federal government should listen to the Southeast region’s demands for Nnamdi Kanu’s freedom and give them.
He cast scepticism on the Southeast governors’ motives in trying to liberate Kanu, saying that they should have lobbied for his release long ago if that was their true intention, unless they have altered their minds.
He mentioned that other agitators from different geopolitical zones had been detained and then
released, like Sunday Igboho, who was the leader of agitation for a Yoruba nation; he was arrested, then re-arrested in Cotonou, Benin Republic, and eventually released. Based on this, he believes that the charges against him are not serious.
The residents of Southwest worked together to demand his freedom. Therefore, the federal government need to pay heed to the demands of the Southeasterners and free Nnamdi Kanu from detention if they have indeed banded together to do so. I still have my doubts about the Southeast governors’
commitment to releasing Nnamdi Kanu,
therefore I’m not sure if they are real. Since they should have lobbied for his release earlier, they should have instead repented….
