Manchester United’s manager, Ruben Amorim, has issued a stark warning about the challenges ahead for the club, emphasizing that they face a “long journey” before it can reclaim their status at the top of English football.

Ruben Amorim, currently 39-year-old, couldn’t stop Manchester United from suffering a 3-2 defeat to Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford on Saturday, December 8.

The unexpected result not only derailed Manchester United’s hopes of finishing in the top four of the Premier League table but also marked a significant moment for coach Amorim, as it was the first time he has experienced back-to-back defeats since August 2022, from his days as Sporting CP manager.

Due to this latest loss, Manchester United is languishing in 13th place in the Premier League table, accumulating 19 points after 15 matches. This points tally is alarmingly low, representing the club’s poorest performance at this season stage since the 1986-1987 campaign.

Amorim acknowledged the daunting task ahead in his post-match comments, stating, “We already knew [it would be tough]. It will be a long journey but we want to win because this is a massive club. You feel it; when you lose one game, it’s hard for everybody.”
