Barcelona have swiftly made a statement on Diario Sport’s report that Deco might be thinking of leaving his position as the club’s sporting director. “Under the headline ‘Deco, disappointed, ponders his future’, FC Barcelona’s response could not be more forceful about the high level of satisfaction with Deco’s work and rejects this attack by Diario Sportagainst the director of football just after the transfer market ended.”
The Diario Sport report claimed that Deco considered himself as the ‘poorest sporting director in the world’ to players agents and was growing frustrated at the club’s inability to return to the 1:1 rule this summer.
But it doesn’t appear to be the case at all and Barca have long-term plans of Deco staying in this role.
