As a staunch advocate against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), the First Lady, alongside Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, Mrs. Oluremi Hamzat, and members of the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO), welcomed the DSVA advocacy group to officially kick off the campaign.

In recognition of their commitment, the First Lady and other top government officials were decorated with the “Stop Domestic & Sexual Violence” insignia, symbolizing their dedication to the cause.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, in a 2-minute 40-second advocacy video shared on his official X account and the LDSVA page, reiterated his unwavering support for victims of domestic violence and condemned all acts of gender-based violence. He addressed Lagosians, saying, “Dear Lagosians, as you may be aware, the month of September is the Lagos State (annual) Domestic and Sexual Violence Awareness Month. Dedicating a whole month to this cause is one of the ways we ensure these issues continue to remain on the front burner.”
