In the interview, Okpebholo emphasized his commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the state. He recounted his efforts before becoming a senator, where he assisted in equipping the local security network in Edo Central with vehicles and necessary equipment. These initiatives, he noted, significantly reduced the high levels of insecurity in the region.
Addressing the pressing issue of the Abuja-Lokoja-Benin highway, Okpebholo revealed that beyond moving a motion for its repairs, he personally engaged with the President to stress the importance of the project. His persistence paid off, and today, the road has been awarded for reconstruction.
On the topic of federal roads within Edo State, Okpebholo made a bold promise to fix them and seek reimbursement afterward. He also outlined his plans to provide the right infrastructure, empower market women and artisans to achieve financial independence, and create an environment that appeals to investors.
Reflecting on his tenure as a senator, Okpebholo highlighted several key accomplishments, including drawing attention to the dilapidated Benin-Ekpoma-Okene road. He proudly shared that he is currently working on lighting up the entire Esanland, providing water, and constructing roads across the state.
For Okpebholo, his focus is clear: work, work, work. He took a swipe at the opposition, describing them as “baby politicians.” He singled out Asue Ighodalo, stating that despite being Governor Obaseki’s economic adviser for eight years, he has failed to deliver meaningful results.
“Make una listen to the interview yourself and judge,”… “Senator Monday Okpebholo dey shake the table!”
