Onwenu was pronounced dead at Reddington Hospital, Lagos shortly after she slumped while performing at the 80th birthday of Stella Okoli, Emzor Pharmaceuticals’ CEO.
Reacting to the news on social media, Alakija extolled Onwenu who she was friends with for over 40 years.
She wrote: It is shocking, that our friendship of over 40 years has come to an abrupt end.
