During an interview with Arise TV, Nwanosike recounted the events where local government chairmen, Assembly members, the governor, and the deputy governor met with the president at the villa.

He said President Tinubu addressed the issue and asked Governor Fubara if he would implement the agreements which were read out by former governor Peter Odili.

Nwanosike claimed that Fubara agreed to the terms but upon returning to Rivers State, individuals loyal to the governor began criticizing the president and some even went ahead to take legal action.

He said despite initially agreeing and stating he signed the agreements willingly, Governor Fubara later refused to implement them, particularly interfering with the Martin Amaewhule-led House, contrary to the agreement that was reached.

He said, “Mr President stepped in by the invitation of some of our leaders, the 23 local government chairmen, all the house of Assembly members from both parties, the governor and the deputy governor, we went to the villa and we met with Mr President.

“Mr President said clearly, Mr governor, you’ve brought this matter before me, and I’ve handled it between you and my minister but I’m forced to come back again because Peter Odili and other leaders said I should intervene but, I want to ask, this intervention I’m doing now, will you let it work?

“Peter Odili was given the mandate of reading the eighth- point agenda that day and each of those agendas, the governor was asked, will you implement, will you sign? And the governor agreed and we finished and we came out of that meeting and we thought we’ve had peace, only for us to get to rivers state.

“The people said they are loyal to the governor, started abusing Mr President (Tinubu), even went to court, made all manner of statements and at the end of the day, what we saw, the governor who agreed, he later came out and say, I didn’t sign this in duress, I signed in clear conscience, but midway the governor refused to implement them, all the issues, don’t interfere with Martin Amaewhule-led house, he has interfered.”>>>CONTINUE FULL READING HERE
