Speaking at the official closing ceremony of the Batch B stream 1 at the camp, Sanwo-Olu, who was dressed in the NYSC uniform noted that a sum of N5bn will be allocated for the construction of a new permanent site for the Lagos NYSC Camp.

He added that the state would reward every ‘corper’ passing out with a N100,000, as well as automatic employment for the best 100 corpers into the Lagos Public Service upon completion of their one year service in the state.

The governor said, “You truly deserve a permanent site; so this year alone, I will be making available a total of N5bn that we will using to start the full development of a permanent site for NYSC. Also, because you have been very hard-working, every one of you will go home with N100,000 each.

“The money would be paid into your account next week. That is how we do in Lagos. On a final note, because we are a performance driven government, I will be monitoring this particular batch. At the end of your service, the best 100 corps members will get automatic employment.”

Sanwo-Olu also donated a 32-seater Hyundia bus to enhance transportation for the corpers.
