Arsenal forward Kai Havertz has no regrets about leaving Chelsea for their London rivals, the Gunners, two summers ago.
Reflecting on his transition from Stamford Bridge, Kai Havertz believes that this decision stands out as one of the best he could have made for his career.
In his second season at the Emirates Stadium, Havertz has taken on a crucial role in Mikel Arteta’s squad, contributing to the team’s aspirations of securing silverware during the current season.
The transfer of the German international from Stamford Bridge to the Emirates Stadium, which involved a substantial reported fee of £65 million, surprised many fans, particularly since Havertz wasn’t exactly the most popular figure during his time at Chelsea.
Nevertheless, Arsenal’s management was keen to secure the talents of the versatile attacker, recognizing his potential to make a significant impact on their gameplay.
In an interview with Sky Sports, via Tribal Football, Havertz expressed his contentment, stating, “For me, it’s the best thing I could have done. I’m so happy with the support of everyone who has helped me during my time here.”
Havertz further added, “I’ve only just started and I hope to continue playing well and winning titles,” indicating his determination to establish himself as a key player and to contribute to Arsenal’s success this season.
Despite his relatively mixed reception at Chelsea, Havertz’s name is etched in the club’s history, as he famously scored the decisive goal in the 2021 UEFA Champions League final, securing a prestigious title for the Blues.
