Leicester City manager Ruud van Nistelrooy is optimistic that Wilfred Ndidi’s injury will not keep him out for an extended period.
Wilfred Ndidi suffered an injury during the Foxes’ 2-2 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, leading to his replacement with Oliver Skipp in the 52nd minute.
The defensive midfielder has faced some injury challenges in recent seasons, so Van Nistelrooy is eager to minimize any setbacks this time.
“Whenever Wilf comes off, it usually indicates an issue. I’m hoping this is a minor concern. He felt a slight strain in his hamstring, and I’m optimistic that we can evaluate the situation quickly to aid his recovery,” Van Nistelrooy said after the match.
So far this season, Wilfred Ndidi who is currently 27-year-old has made 15 league appearances for the Foxes, contributing significantly to the team.
Meanwhile, Chelsea legends John Terry and Frank Lampard have praised Cole Palmer for his impressive Panenka penalty in Chelsea’s thrilling 4-3 victory over Tottenham on Sunday.
Note that the win moved Chelsea up to second in the Premier League standings. The match saw Dominic Solanke give Spurs an early lead, followed by Dejan Kulusevski’s goal to double their advantage.
However, Jadon Sancho’s strike in the 17th minute brought Chelsea back into the game, and a penalty awarded after Moises Caicedo was fouled by Yves Bissouma allowed Palmer to equalize in the 61st minute.
The teamwork continued with Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernandez putting Chelsea ahead in the 73rd minute. Palmer then firmly secured the victory with a stylish Panenka penalty in the 84th minute, leaving Fraser Forster without a chance.
Tottenham captain Heung Min Son did score in stoppage time (90+6′), but Chelsea’s resilience held strong.
After the match, Palmer took to Instagram to share his excitement with the caption “Chippy.” Frank Lampard responded with “Class” and blue heart emojis, while John Terry chimed in with supportive emojis as well.
