The list prominently features Real Madrid stars such as Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior, who have both enjoyed remarkable seasons, including victories in the Champions League and the Intercontinental Cup.
Their contributions have solidified their places in this elite selection. Interestingly, the list notably does not include renowned players like Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Kylian Mbappe’s absence from the lineup is particularly notable, marking the first time he has missed the IFFHS Best XI since 2020. His impressive performances with Paris Saint-Germain early in the year were not sufficient to secure his spot, reflecting the fierce competition at the top.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, two of the legends of the game, are also missing from this year’s selection. For Ronaldo, this marks a third consecutive year outside the IFFHS Best XI, with his last appearance dating back to 2021.
Messi, despite an impressive tally of 29 goals and 18 assists in 36 matches for Inter Miami and playing a crucial role in Argentina’s Copa America triumph, was also left off the list. However, his teammate Emiliano Martinez was named the team’s goalkeeper.
