The Director of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Dogara Ahmed, has appealed for collective efforts in the search of missing corps member, Yahaya Farouk.
Dogara Ahmed stated this during his visit to residents of Ikuru town, in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State, which is the host community of the missing corps member,
He urged the youths and elders of the community to assist security agencies in searching for the Corps Member.
He stated further that it is also the responsibility of residents of corps members’ host communities to provide security and welfare packages for corps members serving in their domain.
Meanwhile, the NYSC DG tasked corps members to turn their inter-tribal differences into a tool for the promotion of national unity and integration.
He made the call on Monday while addressing corps members at the Akwa-Ibom State Orientation Camp in Ikot-Idie.
He stressed the need for them to create and foster mutual relationships among themselves, stating that that would lead to good memories in future.
“As soon as you end your Orientation Course, settle down in your places of primary assignment.
Try and engage yourselves in positive activities”, he stated.
Ahmed assured that the NYSC management would continue to prioritize the welfare of the corps members while urging them to be good ambassadors of the nation.
