NAFDAC and ndlea_nigeria have formalised collaboration with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance operational synergy.
The DG, NAFDAC Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, highlighted that after six years of effort, the agreement will bolster regulatory and control measures to combat drug misuse and safeguard public health.
Prof. Adeyeye underscored the importance of the MoU as a step towards national security, emphasising the harmful impact of illicit drugs on the central nervous system, often leading to violence and other social issues. She commended NDLEA Chairman, Gen. Buba Marwa, for his commitment, noting that this collaboration ensures better protection for the public by merging expertise and intelligence-sharing between both Agencies.
Gen. Marwa praised the long-standing partnership between NAFDAC and NDLEA, stressing that their combined efforts are crucial for public safety.
He called for a framework to enhance joint operations and intelligence sharing, underscoring the shared dedication to combating drug abuse and ensuring safe, approved consumables for citizens.
