Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has reassured the nation that despite current challenges, the country’s “ship will not sink.” He made this statement during the swearing-in ceremony of seven new ministers at the State House in Abuja. The president urged the new ministers to remain focused and resilient, acknowledging that they will face criticism and abuse from Nigerians.

Tinubu emphasized his administration’s commitment to tackling Nigeria’s challenges head-on, citing efforts to stop scavengers and profiteers from exploiting the nation’s resources. He also recognized the increased cost of living and assured that his government would address these issues.

She highlighted Nigeria’s economic potential, particularly through the African Continental Free Trade Area.

Minister of Trade and Investment Jumoke Oduwole echoed similar sentiments, stressing the need to optimize the AfCFTA for Nigerian businesses and retain domestic and foreign investments. She emphasized the importance of creating productive jobs that deliver value for Nigerians.
