In a bid to enforce environmental laws and maintain public health standards, the Oyo State Government has sealed a popular eatery, Kilimanjaro, located in the Ojoo area of Ibadan. The eatery was accused of violating environmental laws on waste management, specifically for engaging unregistered waste contractors.
According to reports, environmental health officers from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources took the action on Wednesday, following a thorough investigation. This move is part of the state government’s efforts to sanitize the environment and ensure compliance with regulations.

In April 2024, the governor signed into law the establishment of the Oyo State Rule of Law Enforcement Authority, which oversees the implementation of environmental and health regulations in the state.
This development is a clear indication of the government’s commitment to upholding environmental standards and protecting public health. The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, led by Hon. AbdulMojeed Mogbonjubola, will continue to monitor and enforce compliance with environmental regulations.
