The Plateau State government is launching an Agricultural and Commodities Market to revolutionize the agricultural sector. This initiative, announced by Hon. John Khyoro Christopher, Executive Chairman of Jos North Local Government Area, aims to directly connect farmers with consumers, eliminating middlemen who profit from farmers’ hard work.
According to Christopher, the market will enable farmers to sell their produce without intermediaries, ensuring they benefit more from their labor. The executive governor, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, is developing this concept to empower farmers, who often receive lower prices from middlemen.
