Real Madrid have finalized a transfer agreement to bring Lamini Fati from Leganés, marking an exciting addition to their youth setup.

Lamini Fati’s move to Real Madrid was confirmed by renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who shared the news in a post on his X account on Friday, December 20.

According to Romano, the 18-year-old centre-back, who has been making waves in Spanish football, will officially join Real Madrid in 2025. This transfer has been on the horizon, as Real Madrid had previously shown interest in securing his services.

Romano noted, “Real Madrid completed a deal to sign Lamini Fati from Leganés for their Juvenil team.” He further revealed that the transfer fee for Fati is set at a modest €100,000, which reflects the potential that the young defender possesses as he steps into this prestigious club’s developmental program.

Meanwhile, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has publicly advised Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford to consider leaving the club following a period of struggle for the 27-year-old.

Carragher, who has been a vocal figure in football commentary, pointed out that Rashford’s current situation at Manchester United is untenable, particularly given his lack of regular playing time under the management of Ruben Amorim.

Over the past few matches, Rashford has found himself on the bench, notably being left out of the squad entirely during the recent match against arch-rivals Manchester City.

Amorim has expressed a desire to help Rashford regain his peak form, but the player’s absence from the starting lineup has led to growing speculation about his future at Old Trafford.

Carragher believes that it may be in Rashford’s best interests to seek a fresh start elsewhere. He mentioned that although there have been rumours linking Rashford to high-profile clubs such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain, he feels that the forward might need to adjust his expectations regarding the size of his next club.

On Sky Bet’s Stick to Football podcast, Carragher stated, “I think it’s time for him to move on but I’ve seen things in the papers about Real Madrid, Barcelona and PSG. It’s Marcus Rashford… am I missing something? He can’t get in the Manchester United team, he’s not even in the England squad.”
