Statesman and chairman Taraba State Civil Service (CSC), Chief John Mamman has said the state would have surpassed the present status if Governor Agbu Kefas was among the early leaders at its creation. According to him, evident achievements recorded under review should have been a thing of the past if governor kefas was at the helm of affairs at the beginning.

The chairman stated this in an interview on Tuesday with our correspondent in Jalingo on the occasion of 33 years anniversary of creation of Taraba State He regretted that the state had suffered setbacks in the past and expressed the hope that it will soon regain a status like other counterparts who were created in 1991 by then President Ibrahim Babagida administration. While appreciating God, the founding fathers and others who fought gallantly to actualize the dream of creation of Taraba state from old Gongola expressed delight that with the present administration led by Governor Kefas, particularly in the area of education and other sectors, there will be light after tunnel. He pointed out that what is left at moment was for the state to look beyond federal allocation and plan ways for industrialization of the state through revisiting of some moribund industries/income generating revenue ventures such as Lau Tomato industry, Wukari Yam Processing Center, Kurmi Timber, Cocoa Industry, Mambila Dairy Farm, increase of rice farm production and harnessing of solid minerals abound across the state. Responding to challenges confronting the state in its 33 years of creation, the elder statesman attributed insufficient resources (funds) to meet up with current reality and sued for collective collaboration to eliminate setbacks in the state. He called on Tarabans to cooperate with the present governor on its lofty ideas to achieve more laudable programs which he said has started yielding positive developments that even a blind person can witness and testify.
