Odinkalu voiced his concerns that the court’s decisions have effectively validated illegitimate electoral mandates, thereby undermining the overall integrity of the electoral process.

Odinkalu expressed a profound sense of disappointment, stressing that the consequences of the
Supreme Court‘s actions are far-reaching.

According to him, these decisions negatively affect millions of Nigerians, including himself, who are actively seeking better governance and accountability from their leaders.

He stated that the court’s rulings have essentially given a green light to elections that do not adhere to established standards, which, in turn, has allowed flawed electoral processes to continue.

He argued that when the highest court in the land appears to condone substandard elections, it sends a troubling message to both politicians and the electorate.

He warned that such actions could end public confidence in the democratic process and discourage citizens from participating in future elections, fearing that their votes might not count.

“The Supreme Court is responsible for illegitimate mandate and coming to tell us where money goes is irresponsible of the Supreme Court. What these people do affect as me as a Nigerian and so when I speak as a Nigerian, I don’t yield.
