Trump vs Harris debate: On Tuesday (Sep 10), former US President, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and Vice President, Democratic Party presidential candidate Kamala Harris faced-off in what was undeniably a historic debate, full of power-packed verbal punches. Here are the highlights from the September 10 ABC News presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.....CONTINUE READING THE ARTICLE FROM THE SOURCE

Right off the bat, zingers were flying as responding to the question if she believes Americans were better off today than they were four years ago, Harris talked of her plans to help families and small businesses while Trump, she alleged, will provide a tax cut for “billionaires and big corporations”.

“Let’s talk about what Donald Trump left us. Donald Trump left us the worst unemployment since the great depression. Donald Trump left us the worst public health epidemic in a century. Donald Trump left us the worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War. And what we have done is clean up Donald Trump’s mess,” said Harris.

She also slammed him for the hard-right Republican “playbook,” the 922 page ‘Project 2025’. However, Trump denied involvement and said he has no knowledge of it.

Trump, meanwhile, said Kamala was merely ‘copying’ Biden’s economic plans.

“She doesn’t have a plan. She copied Biden’s plan, and it’s like four sentences… four sentences that are just, ‘Oh, we’ll try and lower taxes.’ She doesn’t have a plan,” he said.

Harris slammed Trump for his boasting about being responsible for the overturning of Roe V Wade.

She said Trump’s abortion policy was ‘insulting to the women of America’.

Trump, in turn, repeated his false claims about abortion in the ninth month of pregnancy and after delivery, a comment that was even corrected by the debate hosts.

Donald Trump once again refused to accept his defeat in the 2020 election.

When asked about his false voter fraud claims, and his recent comment seemingly conceding defeat, Trump claimed he was being sarcastic: “Look, there’s so much proof. All you have to do is look at it… I got almost 75 million votes, the most votes any sitting president has ever gotten. I was told if I got 63, which was what I got in 2016, you can’t be beaten the election.”
