Minister of works, Engr. He also urged them not to be part of any national protest, calling on Igbos to support President Ahmed Bola Tinubu to make Nigeria work, noting that this present administration is taking hard decisions to recover Nigeria back.

Umahi made this known in Abakaliki, capital of Ebonyi state during the stakeholders’ engagement on the alignment for Ebonyi State 101km segment of the 477km Cross River- South East-North Central- Apo Abuja 6-lane superhighway ( the spur of Lagos-PH-Calabar Coastal Highway) crossing Enugu-Abakaliki-Ogoja( Trans Saharan Trade Route).

He pointed out that Nigerians are paying for many years of neglect, saying that president Tinubu is taking hard decisions to recover the lost glory of this country and warned those that are faning the embars of division in this country to desist from that because it amounts to wasting of time.

He noted that South East people should know that we are not endangered, and should avoid sit-at-home because of its economic sabotage and self inflicted injury.

`The legacy project of Mr president is for our own good.We inherited over 2,000 projects.This is legacy projects.Those that are faning the embars of division in this country is wasting their time.

`The coastal road will help people to clear the goods from port.This coastal road will pave way for investment, tourism, railway, agriculture, and other economic oriented programmes along the coastal road.It is not just a coastal road, but investment that will boast our economy.

We are paying for many years of neglect.One of the problems we have over the years is shurdy job and that is why I introduced concrete road .I want you to support the projects because they are coming with huge economic benefits.

Responding, the governor of Ebonyi state, Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru expressed joy over the numerous benefits of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal high way.

He appreciated Sen. Umahi for laying a strong foundation of infrastructure in Ebonyi state which is why it came second in the People’s charter of needs agenda of his administration.

Nwifuru commended Umahi and his team for initiating the super high way which has a big social economic benefits to Ebonyi state and Nigeria at large.

He also used the opportunity to appreciate President Ahmed Tinubu for a good number of federal roads that cuts across the state, saying that his administration is built on transparency and accountability, and will do everything possible to support the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

Earlier, goodwill messages were taken from national assembly members including Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi, Emmanuel Uguru, Sen.Patrick Ndubueze from Imo, among other national assembly members in attendance.
