The Zamfara Ministry of Health has established a Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Programme under the Department of Public Health Services to address mental health and related cases in the state.

The Commissioner of Health, Dr. Aisha MZ Anka, announced that the state is poised to launch a dedicated mental health case management clinic to bolster the operationalization of mental health and psychosocial support services.

Executive Secretary of the Drug Management Agency, expressed gratitude to Governor Dauda Lawal for his unwavering support to the Ministry

The World Health Organization (WHO) and civil society organizations have commended the state ministry of health for this initiative, particularly in light of rising mental health challenges.

Pharm. Sani Bello, Executive Secretary of the Drug Management Agency, expressed gratitude to Governor Dauda Lawal for his unwavering support to the Ministry. This support includes the construction, renovation, and equipping of Primary Health Care Centers, as well as the upgrade of Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital to a Teaching Hospital.
