On Thursday evening, Arsenal were up against FC Nurnberg at the Max Molock Stadion and took the lead through Bukayo Saka’s fine effort after seven minutes.
In the second half, Jorginho produced a bizarre moment as he scored an own goal from around 30 yards after receiving a pass from goalkeeper Karl Jacob Hein.
Fans were quick to react to the goal.
One said: “What on earth was that from Jorginho?”
Another tweeted: “Even tho Jorginho was the Arsenal player who last touched the ball im giving that own goal to Karl Hein.”
A third fan added: “Keepers had a shocker.”
Someone else wrote: “Good job this game doesn’t matter.”
Whilst a fifth commented: “Thank goodness Declan Rice is coming in so I don’t have to deal with Jorginho anymore.”
Mikel Arteta also gave an Arsenal debut to summer signing Kai Havertz, who joined from Chelsea last month in a deal worth a reported £65 million.
