Shaibu reacted immediately when the state assembly voted to carry out his impeachment after the conclusion of the impeachment hearing on Friday.
Shaibu had shunned the hearing citing the case he instituted at the Federal High Court as the reason.
The court had asked all parties to stay action until the determination of the suit.
But the impeachment hearing went ahead with the report submitted and debated on Monday by the state assembly, who said available evidence weighed heavily in favour of impeaching the deputy governor.
But Shaibu reacted immediately by describing his impeachment as dictatorship.

I thank you all for standing by me under these troubling circumstances. As the Deputy Governor of Edo State, it is with a heavy heart, yet a resolute spirit, that I stand before you to address the recent events that have unfolded within our dear state.
