During a briefing in Abuja, the Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, highlighted that the agitations for both a Yoruba Nation and the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) demonstrate how insecurity in Nigeria is largely self-inflicted.
Buba emphasized that these acts are against the constitution and will not be tolerated, with anyone or group contravening this provision facing severe military action.
Last Saturday, some Yoruba Nation agitators dressed in military camouflage and attempted to take over the Oyo State secretariat and State House of Assembly, leading to the arrest of 29 suspects after engaging security operatives.

Raising the alarm on the potential for terrorists and their sympathisers to blackmail the military, Buba warned that these groups may attempt to portray casualties from military airstrikes as innocent citizens rather than accomplices of the terrorists.
