According to a report by Arise News on Saturday, May 23, 2026, former Rivers State governor, former Minister of Transportation, and presidential aspirant under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rotimi Amaechi, has stated that he should not be held responsible for Nigeria’s present economic and political difficulties, insisting that accountability lies with Nigerians who elected President Bola Tinubu into office.

Amaechi argued that citizens made their choice during the election and should direct responsibility toward those currently leading the country.
