BREAKING: Many People Are Saying We Have No Opponents, But That Is A Misleading Narrative–Osoba

According to a report by Daily Post on Monday, May 25, 2026, former Ogun State Governor, Olusegun Osoba, has stated that Peter Obi, former President Goodluck Jonathan, and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, are being strategically positioned to split President Bola Tinubu’s support base in the southern region ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He made this claim on Sunday during the official announcement of results from the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary held at the Presidential Lodge in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The event also served as a gathering point for party members and stakeholders following the conclusion of the primary process.

Osoba addressed party members during the occasion and urged them not to become overly confident or distracted by the level of support already recorded by President Tinubu in the primary election.

He advised caution, stressing the importance of maintaining focus despite the internal party outcomes.

The elder statesman further maintained that there is an alleged covert political arrangement aimed at reducing President Tinubu’s margin of support in the southern part of the country ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He suggested that such efforts are being quietly mobilised to influence voter distribution in the region.

He also cautioned that members of the party should avoid assuming that the political field is weak or lacking strong competition.

According to him, the political environment remains active, with various interests working behind the scenes to shape electoral outcomes in different directions.

Osoba reiterated that party members should remain alert to unfolding political developments and avoid underestimating the strength of opposition forces or coordinated political movements.

He emphasised that assumptions of an easy electoral path could be misleading if not properly assessed within the broader political context.

He said, “I want to appeal to us all ahead of the coming election: let us not be caught off guard. Many people are saying we have no opponents, but that is a misleading narrative. The enemies are many.”
